Mike Lang
Mike Lang is currently the Chief Innovation Program Officer for ed.Xtraordinary powered by Teach for America. He spends his days collaborating with schools, co-teaching with educators, and designing activities for use in classrooms. His passion is in the integration of digital tools into instruction and believes that learners should design authentically every day.
He began his teaching career in Pascagoula, MS as a fourth grade teacher. After teaching English in Miaoli, Taiwan, he began a 15-year career as a CCSD teacher. He served as a fourth-grade teacher, fifth grade teacher, middle school English teacher, technology specialist, and digital learning coach during a career that ended in 2021.
During his career, he participated in LION’s Teacher Leader Academy, Cohort 3. He was also a Teach Plus Fellow, InspirED Fellow, and a member of the Nevada Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Cabinet. He is a past recipient of the Heart of Education Award and the Best Overall Implementation of Technology during the Tech & Learning Innovative Leader Awards. He has been honored as a PBS Digital Innovator and Apple Distinguished Educator for his work.
He indulges in coffee, non-fiction books, and hip hop music.
